Bed Bugs

One of the most feared and talked about insects amoung homeowners and building managers alike. Bed bugs can be challenging to get rid of and, because of their life cycle and elusiveness, usually require multiple treatments. A lot of prep work needs to be done by the homeowner in order to maximize chances of successful elimination. Access to all areas surrounding the bed and walls is necessary and bedding must be removed. It is recommended that all bedding and clothes be tightly bagged until such time that they can be washed in very hot water.

How did I get bed bugs in the first place you may wonder. Well if you live in a multi unit dwelling such as an apartment building this is an easier question to answer but if you live in a single family detached house it may be a complete mystery to you. Bed bugs are excellent hitchhikers and like to travel on clothes, shoes or even that cardboard box you just brought out of storage. Bought any used furniture lately? That's usually the number one cause and the main reason thrift shops don't accept mattress donations or most bedroom furniture.
