Silverfish

Silverfish tend to feed on paper items, glue, clothing and food items, such as flour and rolled oats. Silverfish can live up to a year without food, but require a high humidity environment. They move fast and are typically nocturnal.

They are aslo a good indicator of a moisture problem typically due to a leaking water supply or drain connector and an inspection by one of our technicians can be useful in determining the problem area. Condensation around windows and bath tubs is also an attractant and should be dried as soon as possible to prevent further issues. Anywhere mildew grows in a home is too humid and gives silverfish (amoung other insects and mould) a perfect habitation.
