Wasps & Hornets

Stinging insects like bees, wasps and hornets send more than 500,000 people to the emergency room each year. These pests are especially active during the second half of summer and early fall when the colonies forage for food that will sustain their queens during the winter.

From a pest control standpoint most wasps and hornets are treated with the same methods. If the nest is visible it is treated with a liquid insecticide but if they are entering a hole in the structure we will use either an aerosol spray or insecticide dust or a combination according to the situation. And while treating visible wasp nests is one of the easier things homeowners can do themselves we don't recommend it as doing it wrong is a good way to get hurt and could potentially be life threatening.
